French scissor-making reached its snipping summit in the 1820s and 30s - the reign of Charles X - when delicately formed, decorative touches were matched in beauty and precision by finely-honed metalsmithing.

Our scissors are made by a French company inspired by these traditional 19th Century designs. It requires a dozen skilled people to make each pair. On the blades’ inside edges, a stamped number indicates that the two blades have been perfectly matched from the beginning of production.

Available in faux tortoiseshell or faux mother of pearl handles, each affixed with a tassel.
